Sam Roberts...

March 1st, 2003

Steve and I had the pleasure of checking out Sam Roberts tonite at Barrymore's. We were pleasantly surprised to have been recognized by some women, but my own attempts at getting some action were thwarted by my inability to recognize that women don't like it when you say stuff like...

"Oh yeah? You saw me in the paper? TOUCH MY CROTCH!!!!"

or..

"Yeah I play in The Setbacks. French me right now."

...just kidding...

No for real. We did check out Sam Roberts. Good show. Steve bought Cuff The Duke's record, which is surprisingly on Three Gut, so it's instantly good, I guess. Steve was a sport, as he accompanied me on a little something called the "Epique Walk" or "Le Voyage Epique". It's a 10 km walk that I always do late at night to sober myself up, or with some buddies if you like to get exercise. Only thing was, that we were freezing, and Steve opted to call a Blue Line cabbie about more than half way. After waiting almost 25 minutes for the fucking guy to figure out where we were, we safely arrived at Tim Horton's. Steve and I were simply wearing layers, Converse, and whatever other toques and Kombi gloves we were able to swipe from his roomates.
Hopefully all of the people who we talked to tonight will make it to the Dominion demain to be decimated by rock.
