This is how we rock it in the O-dot

December 9th, 2002

A pretty rockin weekend. Busy nights and lazy days.

Saturday a bunch of us went to see The Silver Hearts play Zaphods. If you haven't seen these guys before. Check them out. There are 10 people in the band! They have a tuba, trombone, three guitars, piano, violin, theremin (very cool instrument), harmonica, and a saw player. Yes, I said saw (the kind you cut wood with). They have a girl that plays a saw. Unbelivable the sounds she gets out of the thing. Zaphods was packed and the show was awesome.

After this we stopped by the Fox and the Feather for a pint or two and then it was off to Babylon. A band called Antibalas were playing. The way they describe themselves is "Afro beat". I'm not really sure what that means but I do know that it sounded great. There were 300+ people there and they were all dancing. I'm kicking myself for not buying the CD.

By the time that show ended the night was done and so was I. Walked home and crashed. Another Saturday night for the books. It is going to be hard to top that next weekend.
