The Setbacks in Studio

September 8th, 2003

This weekend (Sept. 12-14) we will be recording two new tracks at the Attic Studio in Ottawa with Arturo "Red Light" Brisindi. We hope to record "The Sleuth" and "Paradise", both of which have been road tested and have therefore received the green light for commitment to tape.

We'll let you know how it goes. Of course it will go great with this group of One Take Specialists.

THE SETBACKS: uncut

June 27th, 2003

We are currently in the midst of pre-production for our next release, which we are currently discussing will be either a full length record, or a Gob style E.P. The songwriting process is going along at a good pace, and we will be recording "The Sleuth" for all you hardcore SETBACKS fans out there...which has been getting an overwhelmingly positive reception at our shows. We work for the fans...nuff said.

As for upcoming shows this summer, we are negotiating our September tour, and will be in the studio a fair bit...Steve Palmer is currently really fixated with SLIMER from Ghostbusters, and can be seen sporting a SLIMER & THE NEW GHOSTBUSTERS T-shirt around town for the hot days of summer.

All in all...busy months ahead...

March 21st, 2003

It's true we haven't had much to report in the way of news lately, however we are working on a couple of shows in the next couple of months that should allow you to get your Setbacks fix. So keep checking back here for updates.

In the meantime, continue sending in your advice for the WWSD section, we're eager to help! Plus our Dear Diary section gets the occasional blurb from us.

Valentine's Day Contest Winners!

February 18th, 2003

Congratulations are in order for Katherine and Abla, who were nice enough to accompany three quarters of The Setbacks to the Scratching Post show at Zaphod's, and then proceeded to help us get our sobriety demolished afterwards!
You guys, although not treated to two delectable Swiss Chalet quarter chicken dinners, can feel free to come to our show on March 1st, 2003 at THE DOMINION TAVERN, where we will create pure rock carnage with our magma-like rock performance, as we support The Candidates!

Reminder - The Setbacks Set Souls Afire Saturday

February 4th, 2003

Don't forget to seek shelter from the harsh realities of your everday life by getting your clocks cleaned (rock and roll style) at Bumpers in Ottawa this Saturday, February 8th.

Doors open at 9pm and the show consists of The Grand Fury, Fan Belt Seven, and The Setbacks. All bands are licenced booty-shaker bands, so bring your dancing shoes.
